Facility

The Old Wilson Schoolhouse features original wood floors, an abundance of natural light, a commercial kitchen and over 1800 square feet of event and meeting space. The large, verdant front lawn and colorful flower beds make an ideal setting for outdoor gatherings in the Spring, Summer and Fall. Inside the facility, our event spaces, meeting rooms and dedicated kitchen can accommodate up to 120 people. The kitchen is outfitted with commercial appliances, allowing for outside or bring-your-own (BYO) catering. A large assortment of tables and chairs, as well as modern AV equipment, round out each rental. Whether you are hosting a meeting, holding a training, or celebrating a wedding, the Old Wilson Schoolhouse offers a historic and unique space that is designed to support a variety of community needs.

Location

The Old Wilson Schoolhouse is situated in downtown Wilson, a small town located 5 miles west of Jackson, WY at the base of Teton Pass. The schoolhouse is located just one block off of our quaint downtown, which houses boutique shops and the legendary Stagecoach Bar. Owen Bircher Park lies directly across the street and boasts an expansive green lawn, a large play structure, a sand volleyball court in the Summer and an ice skating rink in the Winter. 

 

Rental Rates

As a non-profit organization, the Old Wilson Schoolhouse Community Center values offering affordable, private rental rates and subsidized rates for fellow local non-profit organizations. Rental income allows us to maintain the historic schoolhouse and ensures we keep our doors open. By renting the schoolhouse, you are helping us preserve this special, historic place!

FAQs

  • Our facility capacity is 120 people.

  • A daily rental extends from 7 AM to 10 PM. In accordance with the Teton County curfew, all activities must cease at 10 PM.

  • Serving alcohol will trigger a refundable special events deposit. However, we have no other restrictions regarding alcohol for private events. Please contact Teton County for the applicable rules regarding food and alcohol service at public events.

  • Yes, and several local businesses are familiar with setting up tents in our front lawn. Please note, we are unable to flag our irrigation system lines and the renter is responsible for repairing any damage related to setting up an event tent.

  • Yes. However, in consideration of our neighbors, we ask that you turn outside speakers off at 8PM. Inside music is permissible until 10PM.

  •  Yes, we have 100 chairs and an assortment of tables that accompany all rentals. We also have a projector, screen and bluetooth speakers mounted in the large meeting room. 

  • Our rental rates vary based on rental type (e.g., local residency, private, non-profit or education rental) as well as the length of the rental and rooms you use. Please view our rate sheet to see specific rates, and then contact Amanda to obtain a quote.
